Temperature of spark

Temperature of spark

(OP)
Hi,

I am looking for a reference/information of temperatures of various types of metal on metal sparks.

I need to know roughly what the temperature of a spark is which is generated during contact of diffent metals.

If anyone can help with this that would be great.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Temperature of spark

Try searching on 'metals combustion temperature' or 'ignition of metal powder', or 'thermochemistry of ...   '

If you're not in air at 1 atmosphere, my guess is that flame temperatures also depend on the pressure, concentration and type of oxidizer.

RE: Temperature of spark

The color of the spark is a direct measure of its temperature. Look-up color temperature and black body radiation.
