Pressure vessels China / TSG R0004-2009

Pressure vessels China / TSG R0004-2009

Hi!

Dont know if this is the right forum to ask but here goes.

China has revised some of regulations regarding pressure vessels last year. New regulation of stationary pressure vessels is called TSG R0004-2009.

I have been trying to find TSG translated to English but with no luck. Does anyone have ideas where to look or where to ask? Any help will be appreciated!

And yes, i have searched from web pages of AQSIQ and CSEI. I have also sended email to them but got no answers...

Chinese version of TSG R0004-2009 attached.

Hartsa,

An English/Chinese dual language standard version is already published in China. If you have a friend in China, ask him/her to buy from any store that sells standards/codes and mail it to you.

People in China can buy online, shipped locally, for 35 RMB (Chinese currency) which equals 5 USD:

Someone is selling here for $440, pay by Paypal, a definitely rip-off:

A 'for approval' version issued 2008, in English, is found here and it should help you for urgent need:

Thanks Boilerone!

I found also that $440 version and thought that holy s...!

And I downloaded the "for approval" version earlier, but there seems to be some differences in categorisation diagrams on annexes A between 'for approval' and '2009' version. Have you noticed? So I dont know can this for approval version be trusted...

I think I try that third option, but first I have to find Chinese friend :) But anyway, that's a good info, thanks!

If you do not have a friend in China, ask your local Chamber of Commerce representation. I don't know where you are from, but the many countries have a local Chamber of Commerce in China. They are there to support you. Now you need support.

RE: Pressure vessels China / TSG R0004-2009

You are welcome, Hartsa,

That $440 one must be a manually translated version (before the official English version came out, I believe) by the owner of the site which indicates a company called 'TransForyou (Beijing) Translation Co., Ltd. 2008-2009'. So the high price pays for the hard work, not a rip-off, I take it back, :).

I have noticed the difference between the graphs. Better trust the 2009 official version dated 8/31/2009.

You do need to make friends in China, haha.

RE: Pressure vessels China / TSG R0004-2009

Let me see....

There are a bazillion copys of the ASME VIII code that have been floating around the internet for years....".pdf"ed by various characters and offered on bulletin boards

.....all for free

Now China wants US$440 for the english version of thier code...

Anyone sense an opportunity for poetic justice here ??

My opinion only

Hi,

I'm writing from Finland. You might know us from the Flyers, where Ville Leino is kicking some Hawks butt right now ;)

But back to topic. Chamber of Commerce was a good call. I contacted one Finish representative working in China and he promised to look into it. I think it's going to work out well.

Thanks for everyone!

RE: Pressure vessels China / TSG R0004-2009

Speaking of rip-off;- our inspector visited the Chinese Institute where various pressure vessels, heat exchangers for our project were designed to ASME BPVC and demanded to see and check the availability of the latest ASME Section VIII 1 & 2, Section II-D, etc. They produced the latest hard copies and the electronic version installed legally on their main frame. The last check on the ASME website asked US$ 14,210 !! (after discount!) for the hard copy alone...So where is the parity???
