Due to a design constraint I will be using a Angular Contact Bearing to calculate the thrust load using a load cell. The test setup is horizontal. Is there any method to determine the loss of thrust load when using a angular contact bearing to measure the thrust load. Please let me know if you require more information.

Why do you suspect there will be a loss of thrust load presented to the load cell?

A sketch of you proposed arrangement would be helpful.

Mechotron,

   If you apply force on one side of a bearing, the opposite side of the bearing should see the same force, in the opposite direction.  This is statics and basic Newtonian physics.  There will be a radial force component on the balls, resulting in higher internal forces, but these all balance.  Your forces may get weird if your bearing is overloaded.

   If you have a discrepancy between your exerted force and the force on your load cell, you should look at your arrangement and try to figure out what is exerting the extra force.
