RE: Agitater

I recommend you Google "agitator calculator" and/or "agitator calculation".

Good luck,
Latexman

RE: Agitater

ione: Good doc. A star for you.

RE: Agitater

In most industrial fermentations, some air is sparged.
The usual correlations P= Np * rho * N^3 * D^5, described already do not account for the air sparged well.
The aerated power / anerated power can be as low as 0.4.

The motor drive should be sized for zero-air service, but the actual dissipated power, that serves gas liquid transfer will be lower.

Thanks for your reply siretb,
What does Np and N stands for?

RE: Agitater

Zamu2010,

Probably you've just taken a superficial glance at the paper I have previously posted (Np is the power number defined at page 5 formula (10), while N is the rotational speed of the impeller).

Hi ione,
My appologies, I did extracted table 5 rule of tumb for my calculation from the document you sent. I should read the whole paper.
Thanks a lot. Its really a good document.
