BLOCK behavior

BLOCK behavior

(OP)
In using linked blocks in a part sketch I am finding that if I make changes to the block and then rebuild in the part that has the linked versions that all the relations that I had established are being deleted. Is there a way to stop this behaviour?

RE: BLOCK behavior

The way I usually use blocks (which is not very often) is just to copy common elements into a drawing and then explode the block so it's just a part of the sketch and create all the dimensions and relations needed to constrain it.  I use this for tooling hole tabs on sheet metal parts alot.  I don't know if that is the best way to use blocks.  If people have best practices please shate.
