Mold for Laytex Tube
Mold for Laytex Tube
(OP)
I am seeking assistance on how to make a mold for a Laytex tube. The use of the tube will be to act as a means to direct a small amount of water at very low pressure. I need the tube to be about 6" x 10 ft. I am just clueless as to how to take a liquid laytex and turn it into a tube so any assistance would be appreciated.

RE: Mold for Laytex Tube
2. Extrude rubber thru a die having a torpedo-shaped center piece. Cure the product in hot air or salt bath.
3. Compression mold the rubber in a die having a center core (mandrel).
4. Dip a mandrel form into liquid latex, multiple times. Cure.
A big part of (some of) the processes will be stripping the cured product from the mandrel. Good mold release compounds may help.
