What is the API definition of sandy service -- re ball valve

(OP)
For ball valve seat material selection can someone advise where one would be able to verify the definition of "sandy service" in terms of what constitutes sandy service.

Is this
. Quantified sand concentration with particle sizes greater than a certain diameter
. Percentage volume sand with particles size greater than cwertain diameter in a fluid
. "sandy" is this simply sand or covers any solid .
. Which if any API covers this, PREVIOUS CANCELLED THREAD implied 14d stating though this was cancelled ??

RE: What is the API definition of sandy service -- re ball valve

Class 2: Sandy Service, where particulates such as sand could be expected to cause equipment failure. Call Southwest research institute, they can help you.

Within the oil and gas production business you would assume that the services near the wellhead contain sand.  I lack a copy but check API 6A.
