multi-pass welding
multi-pass welding
(OP)
Dear all
I'm trying to simulate a multi-pass welding by using MODEL CHANGE but my problem comes after the first bead.
At the 1st step i removed all beads and at the 2nd step i added the first bead. Then, the 3rd step contains applying the heat and cooling down. due to the heat, the model deformed
my problem comes in the 4th step. When i added the 2nd bead (which did not deform because it was inactive during the displacement). So, the mesh of 2nd bead overlapped with 1st one.
is there any way to tie the nodes of 1st and 2nd bead together?
Thank you in advance,,,

RE: multi-pass welding
Model both weld beads and have the second with a very low modulus. Before you would have applied the second bead in your steps anneal the second bead and change the modulus to the appropriate value.
I hope this helps.

I'll try both methods and I'll let you know what I get.
Thanks again.
