changing angles with one dimension

changing angles with one dimension

changing angles with one dimension

(OP)
Is it possible to change the main angle and the others on the outside be able to change equal.
Is there some equation to do this if so can you assist as it will save me alot of time.
I have attach a drawing hopfully this will help to explain.

RE: changing angles with one dimension

You can use a circular sketch pattern to achieve this. Then if you dimension between the first and second lines you can make each pattern member at the same angle or dimension the overall angle around the arc from first to last and have the small angles be equal divisions.

This beats dimension equations for each and every angle. If 2005 has Linked Dimensions you can try using those. If you right click a selected dimension and see Link Values you can type a name and link a series of dimensions so that you can change any dimension and all will update.

RE: changing angles with one dimension

You can select the lines you already have between your angles (pick a group in one of your rings of lines) and give the lines a geometric constraint of Equal.

That will make their length equal (ie angle), then dimension one of the angles.

Use some descriptive geometry to your advantage with some geometric constraints.

Or you can Link the Dimensions.  RMB on the dimension and select Link Values or double click on the dimension and bring up the Modify dialog, slect the drop down arrow next to the input box and select Add Equation or Link Value.
