RE: Help how to calculate response spectrum (Ss and S1 ) from PGA

Ss & S1 are based upon the PGA for a 2% in 50 year (2475 year return) event and 5% damping.  Check this document "UFC 3-310-01 Structural loads.pdf" for a published Ss and S1, it has many cities where US bases are throughout the world.

RE: Help how to calculate response spectrum (Ss and S1 ) from PGA

I recommend the ASCE seminar for ground motion determination by Dr. Praveen. It is very informative.

Also, see Topic 5 under FEMA 451b. http://nibs.org/index.php/bssc/publications/2003/

RE: Help how to calculate response spectrum (Ss and S1 ) from PGA

ASCE 7-05 chapter 11 gives a detailed procedure for developing design spectrum from Ss and S1.
