Mathcad and solve.

Mathcad and solve.

Mathcad and solve.

(OP)
Hi,

I have been having this issue for quite some time, when solving equations in mathcad, sometimes it only solves the equation with 1 result when it has to bring forth 2.

Example.

f(x) = 2*x-x*1.02^x

f(x) = 7,5 solve,x -> 9,44

However it misses x = 27,63, which i can solve on my calculator.

Thanks.

RE: Mathcad and solve.

I don't think that anyone necessarily argues that Mathcad completely replaces calculators, or vice-versa.

However, there are trivial workarounds from high school algebra that can be used to find additional roots, as shown in the attached file.  http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=f8798228-7250-4a51-808a-b857e7b5c363&file=roots.mcd

And one can see that the calculator solution was off by a noticeable amount
