I am new to matlab. I nned ro solve the problems can you tell me that which type of books or links make more helpful to me in matlab with FFT....

Your best bet is a general signal processing textbook. The FAQ section for this forum has some free suggestions.

Once you have understood those the Matlab help files and examples should be enough to get you going.

My 2 cent/2 pence...

That HP/Agilent document really is the D's B's.  HP have always (in my mind) been the best documentors.

Yup, the other one I like is a B&K book called Frequency Analysis. I don't know if they sell it or if you can download it. It's a little more complex than the HP book.

I also strongly recommend that Polikar website on wavelets, even if you are not interested in wavelets.
