Hi,
I mated a cylindrical face on a point edge.
I can't reverse the solution.
I have to mate the inclined cylindrical face passing through the slot.
With NX3 was a breeze, now I can't with the same method.

Why not Constrain the cylinderical face of the component to the cylindrical face of the slotted hole?

So your goal appears to be to create two Arrangements, one with the cylinder touching the bottom edge of the opening and the second one with it touching the top edge, as it rotates about an axis parallel to, but offset from, the face of the plate with the opening, correct?

OK, attached is an example based on your picture and my description above.  I used the 'Touch' Assembly Constraints and it seems to work OK for me.  There are two Arrangements, 'Down' and 'Up'.

Let me know if this is what you were looking for.

Hi John,
yes you have understood my design intent.
The example you have posted is perfect.
I have two question :
1)You have created a hole on a cylindrical surface without tangent plane.
I tried to edit the hole to understand how you have created this point, but the point after de-selected, I don't see to re-select.
So...which step I need to perform to make a hole on a cylindrical surface without tangent plane ?

2)About your solution, why a mate is 'Align' and the other is 'Touch'.
Which rule I need to understand in this case, because I tried before to post here, but always the cylindrical surface goes to the opposite side to the circular edge.

When I created the hole I used a 'Point on Face' as my point method and since the default is to make all holes normal to a face I got exactly what I wanted.

As for the constraints, I can't explain the terms that come up except to say that I used the explicit 'Touch' option in both cases.

for the hole I understand how, but if I want to dimension the point positioning, how it's possible ?

For the mating I tried to use the touch option for both case, but doesn't work, for the lower edge I need to use the 'Align' option, otherwise the cylinder goes under the lower edge.
Anyway it's important to obtain the goal.

To dimension the point positioning I use offset curve in face and/or section curves to have two curves on the surface and during hole creation I select the virtual intersection point.

if I need to extract edges, I prefer to create a tangent plane a create a sketch...more robust and with more tools.
