Comment lines in FEMAP Neutral file?

(OP)
Hi All... I'm trying to familiarize myself with the FEMAP Neutral file format. I have found a copy of the appropriately titled PDF file "FEMAP Neutral File Format", and it has been a big help... though a bit short on any examples for the more complex data blocks.

But I have a simple question to start... is it allowed to insert "comment lines" in this file format? The document I have makes no mention of it, and a search on "comment" from this forum found no hits.

The only mention of comment lines I have found was in the "Material Library" definition, which mentions that each entry must be preceded by a comment line of the form:
     $COM 0 5.0 AISI 4340 Steel
but there is no mention of comment lines in the general file.

Thanks.

RE: Comment lines in FEMAP Neutral file?

There is an option to add comment to the Femap file (file/notes). This comments is added to the neutral file.
I don't know if or how you can add comment lines to the neutral file though, but i assume if you "reverse engineer" you can work out how and where to add such comment.
