singular mapping - what is it?

In WF4 Mechanica, I keep getting a fatal error after the analysis has begun with the alert: "Highlighted solid element has singular mapping".
When I validate the mesh beforehand, it doesn't give me an error then. And the highlighted element never looks unusual.
What the heck is singular mapping and why is it causing a fatal error?
