RE: living hinge model

Why not use something like an angle dimension in a sketch with different values for the different configs?

Though my part is a plastic part. But just the hinge part is a flexible. It behaves more like a sheet metal (Bent & flat positions)

Talking more about the hinge profile. In the molded condition it basically a flat plastic (lines in sketch). In folded condition, it is curved plastic (Arc in sketch)

Even if I would create 2 different configurations, I would need to consider 2 separate features (one for flat & another for curved). I would prefer if there was a way to handle it using same sketch geometry.

Secondly, there is this Flex feature, but its not a precise way of representing.

I wonder if there was a way to have a combination of sheet metal & non-sheet metal SW-part.

RE: living hinge model

In the 'flat' config, make the curved portion of the bend the maximum radius of 500m. That should make the effect of the curve negligible.

Or use a spline (instead of two lines and a curve) to create the hinge section. The spline can be forced to be 'straight'.

CBL,
Thats a nice approach. I will give it a try for sure.
