variable table ST2

variable table ST2

variable table ST2

(OP)

hello

i started to work with SE ST2 after SE20 .

almost all my models in SE20 were driven from variable table and was a very easy and precise operation .
but in SE ST2 looks like i lost control over variable table all the dimension are grey can not be modified. is any way to get control again over variable table ?

thank all in advance

RE: variable table ST2

Hi,

you're working in Sync(hronous) mode, do you? when that's the
case all dimensions are by default 'variable' or driven in terms
of V20 (or trad(itional) mode and thus are greyed out. You must
select the value of a dimension and then press the lock
symbol on the pop-up. Now the dim is fixed (driving) and
can be used with the variable table. But be warned: controlling
your Sync-Model by varaiables is nearly impossible; you should work in Trad.
mode and use the non synchronous templates ie 'Traditional ansi part.par'.
When these are not avalable do this:
Application button --> Options --> User profile --> set the Pulldown
to either Sync and traditional or to Traditional only
BTW: working in Sync-Mode is completely different from what you have
used before (V20)
