Chemical Resistant Slab Sealer
Chemical Resistant Slab Sealer
(OP)
I need a product recommendation for a slab-on-ground surface sealer. The product must give a hydraulic conductivity of less than 1x10^-7 cent/sec. The slab is also subject to forklift truck traffic. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Chemical Resistant Slab Sealer
Both work in a similar fashion as a hardener and sealer. Both work on a chemical ion exchange with calcium in the cement, creating a more dense, less permeable surface. Lapidolith is a magnesium silicate material, whereas Ashford is a sodium silicate material.
Keep in mind that hardener/sealer materials will create a slipper floor because of the closed texture and density at the surface. You might want to consider a slight etch after placement, but be careful that you don't remove all of the material. You can also etch prior to the placement, but consider that etching will reduce the amount of calcium available at the surface, thus could reduce the effectiveness of the material.
Paint on type clear or pigmented "sealers" don't work well for forklift traffic.

I suspect that it's going to be hard to find something that is chemical resistant and performs as a sealer.
