Does anyone know if Dupont makes a 20% Glass Filled Zytel.
It is classified as 73G20L NC010.  I can not find the specs for it anywhere.

Thanks for your help!

RE: Zytel

I checked Duponts site and they make 15% and a 30% but I don't see a 20%.  The material is coming from China so I wonder if it is really a Dupont brand.  Can more GF be added when the platic is being melted in the injection process.  Sorry I am not very familiar with injection molding process.

RE: Zytel

Call DuPont and ask their representative.

You cannot add glass at the machine.

You can mix a bit of 30% in with the 15% to bring it up to 20%, BUT you need to take some special precautions as to how you mix it and handle it.

Other manufacturers do make 20% GF nylon 6.6 off the shelf.

Pat

RE: Zytel

Du Pont give data etc for compounds that are not stock items. They are to special order - especially in these recessionist times. One tonne lots usual minimum order, and (at least here in the UK) a few weeks wait. If fact Du Pont have sold off all the compounding lines in Europe and now sub contract it all (iirc)

As Pat indicated - virtually everyone makes a 20% GF PA6!
