nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

(OP)
I have a file in nx 6. instead of using a table, they made a whole bunch of separate notes. I need to copy and paste all these notes into a separate sheet. I am wondering if I can just copy and paste them into one note so that I can export them to a word file, open in xcel and import that as a table in nx6.

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

Sure you can
After putting the table on the drawing (Insert > table > tabular nore)  click on the top left corner of the table, and "edit using spreadsheet".

Many times when I put long notes on a drawing, I type them in WORD, save it as a ".txt" file and import them into the note using the "import" icon found in one of the note menus - but you can also just cut and paste them into a note.

Thats good, but can you copy and paste around separate 100 notes and put them in a table.

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

I don't see why not.
What do you feel would be the hang-up with that?

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

Not having to go copy and paste on every single note, or being able to see all the text in one feild.

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

I know what you are saying.
It would be nice to be able to do something like what SolidWorks has, but NX cannot do that.
If you have a seat of SolidWorks then do what you want to do in there, then export the text, and bring it into NX.

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

I don't actually see what all the fuss is about, you can just select a bunch of notes, copy them to the clipboard and then paste them to another sheet or even another drawing.

As described above tables are supported in NX and there are a number of ways in which they interact with excel spreadsheets. So you can do something that achieves an equivalent result.

The number of occasions where at least one of the solutions described here wouldn't be as good if not better than what was asked.

If I had to complain at all about the text editor in NX the only comment I'd make is that it was about time that it had a spelling checker.

RE: nx6 can you copy multiple notes into one note

If you're selecting notes from the face of a Drawing, you're NOT actually copying 'strings of text' but rather 'NX Drafting objects'.  Once you accept that, the rest of this thread becomes mute.
