Auto dimension drawing

Auto dimension drawing

Auto dimension drawing

(OP)
Sometimes when I add my first base view, I get dimensions that appear which where taken from my feature sketch, but they're none associative. How do I get these dimensions to come up on every part? They appear sometimes but not all the time. Its very useful when detailing slotted holes, ect..

Thanks!
Matthew

RE: Auto dimension drawing

You can right click on the view to Retrieve Dimensions from the model.  Associativity is set at the time of install (allows you to edit model from drawing).

RE: Auto dimension drawing

ON the other hand you might consider NOT doing this.  Dimensioning follows DESIGN INTENT and how you dimension a part in drafting may be different than how a solid model's sketch is drafted.  Personally I much prefer to start my drafting from scratch.
