Jacking detail

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I am reviewing a large collection system plan that includes sections crossing parkways and sewer jacking to be used under the main highways.   The plans call for 18" SDR 35 PVC pipe as a carrier and 28" steel casing.  Is the SDR pipe acceptable as a carrier or should DR 18 or ductile iron would be required. I also think the casing should larger than 28". Is there any NYS DOT requirement or specification for sewer jacking available or any website that has minimum requirements?

Thanks for your help

RE: Jacking detail

Typically, the inside diameter of the steel liner plate or steel casing shall be a minimum of 12 inches larger than the largest outside diameter of the carrier pipe or larger.

I typically measure to the OD of the pipe bells or flanges. I would think you need at least 34 inch casing.
