Rain Attenuation and Cross-polarisation interference

(OP)
Hello,

Can anyone give me reference material on the subject- "RAIN ATTENUATION AND CROSS-POLARISATION INTERFERENCE on C-band SATELLITE COMMUNICATION". I wanted exhaustive material on this subject.

It is very urgent.

Your expert suggestion is highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
Zib

RE: Rain Attenuation and Cross-polarisation interference

Go to www.mlesat.com/Article9.html page down some and you will come across a section on rain attenuation.

RE: Rain Attenuation and Cross-polarisation interference

There are quite a number of material at the intelsat web site. They are quite generis in nature but will provede you all the information you will require.

RE: Rain Attenuation and Cross-polarisation interference

I have some handy reference material around in my office and my colleagues office on these subjects.

Books:
Satellite Communications, Pratt&Boshan, 1986 Wiley
Satellite Communications, Dennis Roddy, 1996 McGraw Hill
Electromagnetic Wave Propagation Through Rain, Robert K. Crane, 1996 Wiley

Rain Models:  ITU and Crane
Article:
Crane Rain Attenuation Report CCIR 563-3, 1986.  Article describes this rain model and the different rain regions based on geographic locations.

I do not have anything handy yet on the latest ITU model, but, I would think if you go to the ITU web page they would have something available.

I hope that gives you something to work with.
