Resin Rich Coil Test

Resin Rich Coil Test

Resin Rich Coil Test

(OP)
Dear All

I am interesting in to know how to made test in resin rich coils, I want to use the guide lines of  IEEE 522 but I am  confused, we are going to use a Surge comparison tester manufactured by Baker, wich voltages levels we have to use? Is this instrument a marx generator? wich rise time have the SCT?

The 522 only talks about surge test, no hipot test is recommended  could be good too perform hipot test?
Is necessary to test all coils inside of dummy core?

Wich test secuence we have to follow: 1. After Manufacture 2. Before installation of each coil 3. After grouping 4.After all connections are insulated and cables welded
is all necessarie all this secuence or could be  enought:  1. Before installation of each coil 2. After Grouping 3. After all conections are insulated and cables  welded.

Many  Thanks for the Inputs

RE: Resin Rich Coil Test

Necessary tests on coils - AC HV, Tan Delta, Surge Comparison, Dimensional check, Shape check, DC resistance (random),

Optional test - Partial Discharge

These tests are done on manufacture, after installation of coils in the slots and final winding. The test voltage levels will be progressively decreasing to meet the final levels as per standards.
