Abaqus and progressive failure analysis on composite material plate|

Abaqus and progressive failure analysis on composite material plate|

(OP)
hi to everyones
I'm preparing a progressive analysis model of a composite laminate plate with a hole in the middle using pyton in Abaqus.
the problem is that I don't know how I can change the material properties only on the elements that are failure. After the first analysis I know  the element number and layer that are failure in each element, so now I have to modify their properties to do next step of the analysis. How can I do? also in the interactive mode! I did the same thing with APDL for ANSYS and it was simpler (maybe because I know better ANSYS- APDL than ABAQUS-PYTON!!)

Sorry for my english and thanks so much to everyone.

RE: Abaqus and progressive failure analysis on composite material plate|

Has anyone had any experience using Abaqus with the Embedded elements feature? When beams are Embedded into Solid mesh models, I belived the beams distributed loads are not propertly being distributed into the nodes of the adjacent solids. In a more conventional FEM I would have had the Beams sharing nodes with the Soilds.
