I'm trying to find te difference in raw cost of these 2 materials. We ordered wire mesh in 304SS, but overseas supplier sent material equal to 301SS, causing customer to reject material. I know the 304 is more corrosion resistant, but what are the differences in cost? ballpark?

AK Steel has some good information on their website that you can use to compare the price for each.  The base price for Type 304 is only a few cents per pound more than that for Type 301, but the surcharge is over $0.20/pound higher.  Here are some links that you can use to obtain more information:
