Distributor work

(OP)
Well for one, I'm a student looking aroud in the engineer Department for a good carrier. I have a 1973 Mustang mach 1 and have been doing a complete tear down of my 351 cleveland and my distributor is not distributing the electricity to my spark plugs right. The daul points are pissing me of so I want to change to an electronic ignition. I have looked at the MSD's but are there any other good electronic ignitions out there?

RE: Distributor work

Do you intend to replace the whole distributor with the MSD distributor, or do you mean to use the MSD box?  If you mean to use the box, you'll still be using the points to trigger it, although they won't see much load.  Ford makes a good electronic distributor, and the Davis Unified Ignition (DUI) is an HEI with a Ford distributor shaft/housing machined for it.  They are available at www.summitracing.com
