Repair PQR

Repair PQR

(OP)
Hi,
a client ask a repair PQR for the project(pipes).
Is it mentioned on asme b31.3? Is there a way to avoid it?

RE: Repair PQR

As far as I know. a PQR is a PQR, if your PQR covers
all details of new construction as well as the repairs, it will be good.
Your WPS will be supported by that PQR .
The owner just need to verify it.
I hope it helps.

RE: Repair PQR

Some companies require PQRs that simulate repair situations, with the original weld on the PQR repaired for as many repair cycles as desired to be qualified.  However, this sort of requirements is well in excess of ASME Code requirements.  If your client wants something like this, they need to give you many more relevant details before you can qualify a PQR that would meet their requirements.
