Zero Sequence current of Y ground connection decreases with fault

Zero Sequence current of Y ground connection decreases with fault

Zero Sequence current of Y ground connection decreases with fault

(OP)
Hi,

I am having this problem and not been able to find out what is wrong with my model. When I apply fault near the transformer for Y grounded connection, the Positive and Negative sequence current increase, but the zero sequence decreases. I am using EMTP to model and using a synchronous generator.

What could be the reason?

Pls help.

Thanks

More details, please. Single line diagram, some parameters.

RE: Zero Sequence current of Y ground connection decreases with fault

What particular fault are you applying? This is true when the fault is SLG near the Y-grounded source, the zero sequence current (3I0) is higher than 3-phase & Line-Line faults. 3I0 will only decrease when you're getting the fault far from the Y-grounded source due to the line sequence impedance increases.
