corrosion allowance in tanks

corrosion allowance in tanks

corrosion allowance in tanks

(OP)
is the 1/8" corrosion allowance for pressure tanks standard or where can i find how to calculate?
thanks ......

RE: corrosion allowance in tanks

Yes, 1/8" is standard for all tanks, pressurized or not, regardless of material of construction, product contained, operating temperature, and desired useful life. Unless the tank is painted purple. Then you can drop the corrosion allowance to 1/10".

Is this a homework question?

RE: corrosion allowance in tanks

That would be a first.  I mean a homework question considering corrosion.  Although basic, its far too practical to be homework.
