Planetary Gear Ratio

Planetary Gear Ratio

Planetary Gear Ratio

(OP)
I have a micro-motor I am trying to install a planetary gear system on. My outside diameter is 1.65". My motor spins at around 1200RPM and I want to reduce it to 220-250RPM. The sun gear is the drive and the planets are held in position and the ring gear is my output drive. Does anyone know what gears I would use and teeth count, pitch, etc.?

RE: Planetary Gear Ratio

(OP)
I wanted to add that I only want 3 planet gears.

For example 14/30/-73 for the number of teeth would give an output speed of 230rpm.
The center distance would be 0.44" with Diametral pitch of 50.
You would need some profile shift on the sun to avoid undercut.

RE: Planetary Gear Ratio

mraabe,

A star for you.  Your 14t/30t/73t gearset even assembles! 2thumbsup
