Offsets

Offsets

(OP)
When placing a member in STAAD, it places it centerline to centerline (using W-shapes).  I know that you can place offsets by using the specification page...beam...offsets.

My question is, is there a more simple way to place offsets without having to select each end of each member??

RE: Offsets

You can do it all in the editor but will probably take longer.

That's almost the same thing and would take longer.

I was told there was a command that could be used to offset but they don't remember what it is.

RE: Offsets

Can you do it using the GUI and then check the text input file to see what the command is?

RE: Offsets

Define offset specification --> select multiple beam using one of selection method say "by property" --> assign specification to all.

Thanks for the replies.
