Pro E 4.0 Non-commercial to professional - drawing formats & templates

Pro E 4.0 Non-commercial to professional - drawing formats & templates

Pro E 4.0 Non-commercial to professional - drawing formats & templates

(OP)
I have just purchased "Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 4.0 for Personal Use".  I also use the professional version at work (4.0 also).

I want to use all the templates / formats from work.
It will open the Config.pro and *.dtl files ok, but wont recognise the 'drawings formats' and Part and Assmebly Templates.

Is there any way around this?

If not what is involved in setting up the assembly and part templates?
The drawing formats, I do remember how to do.

RE: Pro E 4.0 Non-commercial to professional - drawing formats & templates

There is no way around it.

PTC does not want you using the personal edition for real work. It is intended for educational use only.

Templates are not hard to setup. Just create a new file with what settings you want and save it as a template file name.

Try exporting the Formats from work as a DXF or other neutral format and Pro/E student edition can import them.

It used to be you could open Professional files on the Student edition but once saved they will no longer open on the professional version. That should still be the case but I haven't checked on the WF4 version.
