AST Concrete Foundation Inspection

AST Concrete Foundation Inspection

AST Concrete Foundation Inspection

(OP)
Hello Everyone;
At the company i work for a 20,000 m3 is being out-of-service inspected. We are interested in determining the concrete pad condition under a moderately to severe corroded bottom. We are planning to visually inspect this foundation under the bottom plates which are to be replaced and some randomly selected additional areas. I have found no recommendations in API 653/575 in regard to concrete inspection. What should we be looking for? What techniques are to be employed to determine concrete condition as indicated in API 653 (2009) 4.5.1.2? Should we take cores and have them tested? Are edge settlements measures a supporting technique?
Any comments/observations, etc, will be appreciate.
Thanks.
