Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

(OP)
Does anyone have any recommendations on some good textbooks regarding reinforced concrete? I'm trying to brush up my skills and want to see what others have used. Thanks in advance.

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

Reinforced Concrete by MacGregor and Wight is by far one of the most comprehensive textbooks that you will find. You can also look at PCA Notes for ACI 318 for code application examples.

Which code do you follow?

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

(OP)
ACI 318 is the code my office uses for U.S. projects (I haven't been involved in any of our overseas projects yet).

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

I use "Design of Concrete Structures" by Nilson, Darwin, and Dolan.  Great reference with a lot of step-by-step design examples.

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

I have the Nilson et al book as well as "Reinforced Concrete Structures" by Park and Paulay.  I've found both to be very helpful.

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

The Nilson et. al. book is pretty good, but the absolute best I have seen is MacGregor and Wight.

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

I'll put my vote towards McGregor however all books suggested are great texts. Park and Paulay is another excellent suggestion.

Good texts written to Australian Standards include Warner, Rangan, Hall and Faulkes as well as another book written by Beletich and Uno. A special mentioned to the second set of authors who put on seminars to further aid the material presented in their text.

It is best to build yourself up a collection, every design is different and it would be difficult (and long) to try and publish a book which covers every example of every design possible with concrete design.

Best of luck.

RE: Reinforced Concrete Reference Books

Hello to everyone.
I saw that you use very good books. I use them too and others of course, mostly with Eurocodes.
I wanted to ask if someone has read this one:
ULTIMATE LIMIT-STATE DESIGN OF CONCRETE STRUCTURES A new approach
M.D.Kotsovos and M.N.Pavlovic
I found this in google books where i saw some pages there, i cant find it anywhere else, i have in minde to bye it, but at first i wanted to hear some opinions about it, if anyone had read it.
ok thanks a lot
