High pressure gas test

High pressure gas test

High pressure gas test

(OP)
Hello.

I am new to posting on this forum, but have been reading for a while. Very good page i must say :)

Back to the question. We have some gate valves that are going to be ordered. 1 is for gas export (1500lbs/257 barg) one is for MEG injection (1500lbs/257barg) and one is for fuel gas/produced water (150lbs/14Barg). Witch valves need a high pressure gas test and why?

Hope to get some god information.

Thanks
Kai

RE: High pressure gas test

The general answer, valid worldwide is following:

1. Valve should be stested according to local rules and regulations.

2. Valves should be teasted according to common practice for the branch and application.

... and the most important of all:

3. Valves should be tested above tests given by 1 and 2 if the end-user find further tests feasible to be sure of quality and operational sequrity of the required life-time length.

For point 1 and 2 you will probably find accurate answers, point 3 however is one the enduser has to evaluate....

Good luck!
