PHOTOVIEW 360 - Saving appearances

PHOTOVIEW 360 - Saving appearances

PHOTOVIEW 360 - Saving appearances

(OP)
Hi,

I'm using Photoview 360 in SW 2010. Or more accurately, trying to.

Having played with a paint finish to get it to represent what we actually have on our product i.e. texture, colour etc, I'd like to save it for future use. Can I? If I can, I don't see how!

If you can't save anything or add to the standard appearances, it would make repeat jobs very tedious.

Help!!

RE: PHOTOVIEW 360 - Saving appearances

When you save the scene in PV then it is suppose to save it to the file. Then next time you open PV that appearance and Scene should be there.

Hi Scott,

What I mean is this; Say I played around and finally got a finish that looked real for a part of my product - for example a particular colour of textured aluminium anodising. That finish is common on my products I would like to select it again when producing a Photo View image of another assembly. Ideally it would appear in the list of available appearances but I don't see that it's possible to 'Save' a custom appearance.

Am I wrong?

RE: PHOTOVIEW 360 - Saving appearances

At this time you can't save appearances in PV360.  That should change when PV360 is fully integrated into SW2011 and replaces PhotoWorks.

Yes, it is a major pain in the @#^!&*

Thanks Anna.

I have always struggled with PhotoWorks but I just completed a job using 360 and it's great! It looks so real it even confuses me! I always found it hard to render a part that's painted matt black and covered in black anodised parts and black screws!
