NX6 Reference dimensions

NX6 Reference dimensions

NX6 Reference dimensions

(OP)
We are experiencing some inconsistent performance with NX6 when adding a reference dimension. It appears that the option is grayed out in some cases (mainly older files, pre-NX6) and it is available in other files. I know did see there is a on/off option in the customer defaults for reference dims but that didn't seem tp help. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: NX6 Reference dimensions

Are we talking about 'reference' dimensions with respect to there use in a Sketch or as annotation on a Drawing?

Reference dimensions in respect to annotation on a drawing.
Sorry, I should have specified that. We are also using NX6.0.4.3.

RE: NX6 Reference dimensions

Try pulling up the older files, and doing a save so that they are saved in NX6, and see if that helps.
Just a guess.

RE: NX6 Reference dimensions

That Customer Default setting is 'Part Specific' which means that it will ONLY effect new files created from scratch.  Unfortunately I can't seem to find any way to override that if you do happen to create a Drawing with that option set.

RE: NX6 Reference dimensions

We had some same issues with titleblock files when working master / model, we use a seed part for specifications , and had to change it in the seed part also to have the good effect.
