pluggable vs. intermateable
pluggable vs. intermateable
(OP)
Dear all;
i'm in doubt about the better expression for the german
word "steckbar" which means that you can put things easily
together via e.g. plugs and sockets.
Any hint for me?

Hello CorBlimeyLimey,
> if there is/was such a word as "intermateable"
Yeap, thats why i'm so unsure about.
In some dictonaries you find that term, in some other not.
Hello ewh,
> Or just "connectible"
Unfortunately, it does not describe the precise funktion.
It's a bit fuzzy.
Connectible can be mean clamp, screw, plug etc....
Thanks for first reaction.
Maybe someone else has a idea
TIA, Harry

pluggable.
Put a sentence together on what are you trying to say this will give a better understanding and what word to use.
RE: pluggable vs. intermateable
Good morning all (european time ;)
> Put a sentence together on what are you trying to say
exactly what i tell everybody, because otherwise you can
not find the right wording for it.
But unfortunateley the term comes from a BOM, so there are
no sentence.
> Modular or sexed conenctions?
Modular connection sounds not bad, but doesnt explain
how to connect.
Yes, i see everywhere "pluggable" but it sounds not good
for me. We have terms like "screwable" in some dictionaries
which is imho bad language.

This two links shows "Intermateable" while Cambridge, Collins and Merriam Webster dont know that term...
I think i accept "pluggable"
After all, today is friday (POET day) :)))
Have a nice weekend

RE: pluggable vs. intermateable
I would suggest "plug-in modular" or "modular connector"
RE: pluggable vs. intermateable
my 1st thought was "plug-and-pray" ...
2nd "like lego blocks"

I have just that two terms in german: "Konvertereinbauten, Steckbar"
Which i have translated after discussion here to: "Converter Internals, Pluggable"
Why?
1. Mate is a friend of same sex, and that would not be understand als pluggable.
(no comments pls.)
2. Both terms are not found in ALL major dictionaries
3. Plug or Pluggable will be understand in most countries
Gentlemen tnx for your help
