export text splines from NX6 to NX4

export text splines from NX6 to NX4

(OP)
Hi,

Trying to export a drill jig which has a text label on it. Working in NX6 and needs to be read by NX4.

Have tried export parasolid->won't select splines

Have tried converting splines to curves, exporting as step file with export curves option checked.

What is the proper method to export the solids and splines so they can be read and the text used for engraving tool path in NX4?

Thanks.

I'm a new user, please be patient.

RE: export text splines from NX6 to NX4

If you don't have any PMI data with the 3D model, export the 3D content as STEP 203 if possible...or another neutral CAD format (IGES).  Export the text as CGM and tag the box to export text as polylines/splines.

NX can import all these formats in NX4.

Hope this helps.

nkwheelguy,

I exported everything with iges, should I find any stitch errors I'll export the solids again with step and merge the files. Thanks for the tip on CGM, I'll have to try it next time.
