IEC Breaker

IEC Breaker

IEC Breaker

(OP)
Do IEC circuit breakers also have trip rating (in addition to frame rating)? I don't see trip ratings mentioned on the IEC single lines.

RE: IEC Breaker

All depends on who made the single line you are refering to, but yes, they will have trip ratings.

Maybe you can provide some more information?

RE: IEC Breaker

I mean that, for example, the UL rated 1500A breaker has trip settings like 800A, 1000A, 1200A, etc... Do IEC rated breakers also have these kinds of trip ratings? If yes, is there some table showing the standard trip ratings?

RE: IEC Breaker

1500A is not a standard UL rating. IEC ratings are different but the "trip rating" will depend on the CT size, tap, rating plug, pick-up setting, etc....

Standrds for both IEC and UL are different for different voltage classes, not sure what you are asking about.

Perhaps you could ask a more specific question?

RE: IEC Breaker

I don't think this is a standard.

Some breaker will have different rating plug available (or trip rating), some don't. It's up to the manufacturer and the breaker type.

Every breaker is different, you should look at the manual of the specific breaker.  In single line, we usually see the rating plug, not the frame rating.
