Solid Part From Assembly

How can you create 1 solid part from an assembly of joining parts.

RE: Solid Part From Assembly

1. insert > component > new part
2. edit the part
3. insert > features > join

RE: Solid Part From Assembly

(OP)
I thought I could save an assembly as a part which I can, only the parts contained in the assembly converted to surfaces.  I will have to create a new assembly in part mode and combine the entities, always looking for shortcuts if they exist.

Thanks,

RE: Solid Part From Assembly

Oh, by the way, you can't just upload the assembly file if you want us to look at it.  You'll need to do a pack-and-go which will include the part files so we can actually open the assembly.
