Photovoltaic invertor connection to MV grid

Photovoltaic invertor connection to MV grid

(OP)
Dear All.
We work now on some technical evaluation of Photovoltaic invertor connection to MV grid.
Power is about 1MW. Im "responsible" for the protection requerements.
Actually, from my point of view, its same as co-generation issue.
Im use standard protection 50/51/49/67N
And would like use additional function for decoupling/ island mode:
27/59/81U/81O and ROCOF( df/dt), maybe voltge jamp.
Im think also add 25 functionality.

Could you please attached links to standards or rules in your countries.

Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.
Slava

RE: Photovoltaic invertor connection to MV grid

Most utilities in New England (Northeast USA) uses IEEE 1547 as a reference.

RE: Photovoltaic invertor connection to MV grid

Slava, this document gives guidance on what we do in the UK. See appendix D. As you say, its treated exactly the same as any other distributed generation.

Basic requirements:-
 Overcurrent and earth fault
 over-voltage
 under-voltage
 over-frequency
 under-frequency
 loss of mains

Rafiq, Marmite thanks a lot.
I will order IEEE 1547.
Marmite, as usually UK guidance is good and useful documents.
