Import .svg?

Import .svg?

Is there an easy and free way to import an .svg into UG as usable geometry? It's not for work but some graphics for my wife that I was going to mess with during my lunchbreak.

RE: Import .svg?

You can import .cgm and .dxf (and .dwg) files as usable geometry. Try your favorite search engine to see if there is some way to convert your .svg file into one of these formats.

I'm guessing NX is not the ideal tool for what you want to do. Have you tried inkscape?

Thank you for the reply,

My goal is to machine a stamp or maybe laser a stencil, thats why I wanted it in UG.

It looks like inkscape will work to translating to DXF, though it .svg i found didn't come in well.

I'm looking for an American flag, preferably G-Spec ratio but I suppose it doesnt really matter
