NX 6 - Holes

NX 6 - Holes

NX 6 - Holes

(OP)
NX 6.0.5.3

Not sure how I didn't notice before, but what happens to the 'p'named expressions ?

Create a Block and add a Counterbored Hole and I end up with ...

p6
p7
p8
p48
p49
p53
p57
p60
p119
p120

Where did all the in-between 'p' named expressions go ?

RE: NX 6 - Holes

that's probably because you deleted some parameters/features in creating your part insteed of using the undo (ctrl-z) function, each time you create a feature or dimension a sketch and delete it, then the counter goes one (or several param.) up. for ex. creating a hole would create 5 or 6 parameters, like diam./depth/positioning etc etc. But you found its not placed good and just delete it and create another one the counter went a couple of parameters up.
I don't know if you can control this behavior, but i recall there was a post on the forum with a grip program that changed the parameters. Maybey you can search for it.

RE: NX 6 - Holes

It's a mystery! I've noticed that has been happening for a while now, also in earlier versions of NX.

RE: NX 6 - Holes

It's not a mystery, it's just a consequence of the architectural approach that was taken with the creation of Hole features.  Not that this is a particularly new phenomenon, however it's probably the most noticeable example of this.

John,

Noticable it most certainly is !!!

I was looking at a relatively simple model, with not so many Holes, and noticed the expressions were beyond the p3500 count.

I wondered how on earth the guy had had so many attempts at the model. Turns out, he actually hadn't smile
