Hello Evryone

what type of pc, meaning the power for desktop Pc I need to use solidworks comfortably without problem?

Thanks

Raffi

RE: Hello: Need help about Pc

That depends on the type of product, size and complexity of parts and assys ... and whether you need FEA, rendering, or other resource intensive add-ons?

I'm still running a P4-3.2GHz, with 3GB RAM and a Quadro FX500/600 (AGP) video card with XP Pro x32. The products I'm working on allow that ... but only just.

What is your budget?

RE: Hello: Need help about Pc

I recently went through getting a new PC and this is what I got:

Intel Core i5 750 (i7950 would be a bit better if funds allow)

2 x 500GB Sata Hard Disk (my files are on a network, swap file is on the second disc)

8GB Memory DDR3 (add more if there is budget left)

Gigabyte S1156 Motherboard

ATX Midi Tower Case

600W Cooler master Silent Pro M PSU

Windows 7 Pro 64/Windows XP Pro Downgrade

Nvidia FX1700 graphics card (I picked one up cheap on ebay).

Works well but I do no FEA or photoreal. Sometimes my assemblies get quite large. I'm pleased with the performance so far.
