SIPS repair
SIPS repair
(OP)
Has anyone ever specified a repair for a SIP wall where the bottom 2 feet of the interior OSB has removed (flood)? I have found splice details for vertical joints but none for horizontal joints. Thanks!
When was the last time you drove down the highway without seeing a commercial truck hauling goods?

RE: SIPS repair
This would involve cutting away to good material (OSB) and stitching the old to new with a piece of flat blocking, much like diaphragm blocking. Your nail patterns and block'g size would be a function of the loads on the wall (lateral) panel thickness etc.
Hopefully the studs are good, since those would be a real chore to replace.
The bigger problem is probably addressing the foundation concerns. Did the flood compromise your foundation bearing material...or in other words, where did all the water go?
