Cylinder tilted / helical Pattern

Cylinder tilted / helical Pattern

Cylinder tilted / helical Pattern

(OP)
I am trying to model a bonding pattern on an anvil roll. The pattern does not just repeat where a circular pattern creates the part. The pattern in in a helical pattern. I have modeled the part using Solid edge and the link is a screen shot of the part. The Part in edge is cumbersome to work with and very hard to edit. I am trying to see if Solidworks can create a part that is nicer to work on and edit. Any guides, clues, ideas, or help would be greatly appreciated. It has been a few years since I have done any real work in Solidworks and We only have 2007 for me to play on.

Thank You for your time.

RE: Cylinder tilted / helical Pattern

That size and type of pattern will turn most 3D CAD systems into slugs.

The best method would be to suppress the pattern when not working on those details. The same could be done in SE.
