Hi,
      I am trying to model a simple temperature stress analysis.

     If i suppose the temperature is constant in the volume, and changes uniformly , is it correct to forget the real temperature slope (like 2°C / minute), and simulate the thermal expansion as a static general of 1 time step with temperature changing as a ramp (deafult) from 100°C. to 23°C? Is the timestep relevant?

As for my material properties, I have temperature dependent Youngs Modulus and temperature dependent coefficient of Thermal Expansion.

depends on what the real world conditions are like, because there will be a difference in the end IMO in the two cases.

Do you have strain rate dependent material properties, or is it a dynamic analysis? If not, then it's a waste of time.
