nodes alignment

nodes alignment

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I'm currently analyzing an assembly which has 5 parts and they have been tied together. To get accurate results, I'm trying to make the interface nodes match. But seems its hard to make them exact align.

Is it necessary to make them match?
Anyone can help me find a way to achieve it?

Thank you so much!

RE: nodes alignment

Does the geometry actually touch at the interfaces?  If so you can merge the solids and choose to retain or remove the edges.  I hope this helps.

RE: nodes alignment

You can also do a merge/cut on the meshed parts in the assembly module and align the nodes that way. I personally don't have a whole lot of experience doing so, most of the time I just join the geometry as Rob suggests, but I'm pretty sure this is what it was made for. Let us know if it works!
